Over the past 15 years, LYSI has been a leading company in research and product development of marine lipids.

The company collaborates with the University of Iceland and the Icelandic Fisheries Laboratories on a continuous basis.

The link between leadership in research and development on the one hand and in marketing and sales on the other is important in the eyes of the management and owners of LYSI.

The R&D facilities benefited substantially from a massive reorganization in 1980, when the laboratory was completely redesigned and its function reviewed, and a new emphasis was placed on research and development.

Based on this unique set-up and the close cooperation with leading international pharmaceutical firms and research organizations, LYSI is commonly regarded as one of the global leaders in the field of marine oils and their utilization.
