Fountain of Youth is a direct translation of the Icelandic name of a new product for the domestic market. Despite being aimed at people over 50 years of age the product is also suitable for younger generations living in a stressful world. The launch was very successful.

In October, LYSI obtained a GMP approval for API production. GMP stands for the control and management of manufacturing and quality control testing of pharmaceutical products.

Daily intake of 15 g of DHA and EPA may have helped Randal McCloy to recover sooner from his injuries than he otherwise might have done. McCloy (28) was the only survivor of a coal mine explosion in January 2006.

Yesterday, LYSI finalised the acquisition of 53% of the shares in IFEX, a company in which LYSI held 47% of the shares prior to the transaction.  IFEX has specialised in the production of cat and dog food. Around 95% of the production is exported to the USA, Europe and Asia.

Iceland’s President Olafur Ragnar Grimsson awarded the President of Iceland's Award for Export Achievement 2007 to Katrin Petursdottir, CEO of LYSI, at a ceremony in April.

LYSI’s Omega-3 Fish Oil contains high levels of omega-3 fatty acids and comes with a mild lemon flavour.  It does not contain vitamins and may therefore be consumed together with cod liver oil to increase the intake of essential fatty acids.
